Money Making Tips

Making Money Adsense is one of the easiest online businesses you can imagine. You simply put content on your website, a visitor clicks on it and you have made money. It sounds easy! But is it really? Well, many of us know that people earn staggering amounts of money just by placing Google Adsense ads on their sites.

You know they are already interested in the subject because they've landed on your web site.

Making money with Google Adsense requires you to drive traffic. In fact that is the key. Placing Adsense on your web site is pretty easy. If you go to the Google Adsense web site, they will show you how. You simply copy and paste a specific code to your web site and you are set to go. It has been discovered that you can make more money with adsense ads which blend in with the color scheme of the website. This is because people are more apt to click on them because they don't appear like ads, but instead, like a natural part of your website. If you choose to not go with the same color scheme as your website, you at least want to choose ads which are complimentary.

Once you have your ads set up, it is now time to drive traffic to your web site. You won't make money if you don't see traffic. There are so many ways to receive traffic, online and off-line methods. One way is to place classified ads in your local newspapers. You will want to stay away from placing classifieds in large, untargeted newspapers. They have a ton of classified ads, and they are easy to get overlooked. With smaller publications, your ad is more likely to be seen and to responded to. Another great way to generate traffic to your Adsense sites is to pass flyers, or door knockers. You can also use a car decal.

Many people with offline businesses place these decals on the cars. Article marketing, online classifieds and social networks are another way to drive traffic to your Adsense sites.

These are a few ways to make money with Google Adsense. Again, it is one of the easiest ways to our money because you are not asking anyone to purchase anything, you are simply providing information and allowing your readers to learn more with a simple click. If you are interested in learning more about Google Adsense, you can find some great books online.

Increase Your Blog Traffic In 7 Steps

Adsense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publisher’s arsenal. It enables a person to monetize their sites easily. If used properly, it can generate a very large and healthy income for them. However if you are not using them rightly and just maximizing the income you squeeze from it, you are actually leaving a lot of money on the table. Something that all people hate doing .

How you can start earning money with Adsense can be done easily and quickly. You will be amazed at the results you will be getting in such a short period of time.

Start by writing some quality content articles which are also keyword incorporated. There are a lot of people given the gift of being good with words. Writing comes easy for them. Why not make it work in such a way that you will be earning some extra cash in the process.

There are actually three steps to put into mind before you begin writing your ads and having an effective Adsense.

Keyword search. Find some popular subjects, keywords or phrase. Select the ones which you think has more people clicking through. This is actually a keyword selector and suggestion tool that some sites are offering to those who are just their Adsense business.

Writing articles. Start writing original content with keywords from the topics that you have achieved in your search. Take note that search engines are taking pride in the quality of their articles and what you will be writing should keep up with their demands.

Quality content site. Build a quality content site incorporated with Adsense ads that is targeting the subject and keywords of your articles and websites. This is where all that you’ve done initially will go to and this is also where they will prove their worth to you.

The proper positioning of your ads should be done with care. Try to position your ads where surfers are most likely to click on them. According to research, the one place that surfers look first when they visit a certain site is the top left. The reason behind this is not known. Maybe it is because some of the most useful search engine results are at the top of all other rankings. So visitors tend to look in that same place when browsing through other sites.

Some of those who are just starting at this business may think they are doing pretty well already and thinking that their clickthrough rates and CPM figures are quite healthy. However, there are more techniques and styles to generate more clicks to double your earnings. By knowing these techniques and working them to your advantage, you will realize that you will be getting three times more than other people who have been previously doing what they are doing.

Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics that allows webmasters and publishers to track their results across a number of site on a site by site, page by page, or any other basis you wanted. You should be aware oft his capability and make the most of it because it is one powerful tool that will help you find out which ads are performing best. This way, you can fine tune your Adsense ads and focus more on the ones being visited the most rather than those who are being ignored.

Another thing you should know. Banners and skyscrapers are dead. Ask the experts. So better forget about banners and skyscrapers. Surfers universally ignore these kinds of ad formats. The reason behind this is that they are recognized as an advert and advert are rarely of any interest that’s why people ignore them.

To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a definite focus on what you wanted to achieve and how you will go about achieving them. As with any other kind of business ventures, time is needed coupled with patience.

Do not just ignore your site and your Adsense once you have finished accomplishing them. Spare some time, even an hour, making adjustments to the
Adsense ads on your sites to quickly trigger your Adsense income.

Give it a try and you would not regret having gotten into Adsense in the first place.

Latest Google Adsense Western Union Payment Updates

Good news for Google adsense publishers who uses Western Union as the form of payment for their adsense earnings.

Google adsense recently extended the deadline to pick up the Western Union payments from 35 days to 60 days.

If you did not pick up the Western Union payment within 60 days of issuance, the payment will be credited back to your account and a payment hold will be placed on your account.

This is good if you were too sick to collect the payment as you will have 60 days before the payment expire.

Google adsense also introduced split payments for publisher who exceeds their Western Union’s payout limit. Currently publishers are issued check payment whenever their earnings exceeds their Western Union payout limit.

Now, if your adsense earnings exceeds the Western Union payout limit, Google adsense will divide up the amounts but still send them via Western Union.

For example, if your Western Union payout limit is $3,000 and your adsense earnings for the month is $5,000, Google adsense will now send you two payments : one for the limit of $3,000 and another for the remainder of $2,000. This great news as currently Google will sent a check whenever you are above the limits.

You will see 2 ‘Payment issued’ lines on your Goggle adsense Payment history page when you are getting 2 Western Union payments.

Google adsense Western Union payment options are only available to publishers of these countries :-

How To Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Terminated

Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is a public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its search engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.

For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again over again.

So for those who rely on Adsense revenue, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts.
Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Page cloaking.
There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Multiple submissions
. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URL’s is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Link farms.
Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale.
If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways.
This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another “user-friendly” page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content.
In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP’s, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites.
Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.

Introduction to Google Adsense

Google AdSense matches ads to your site's content, and you earn money whenever your visitors click on them. Google's spider crawls webpages containing the adsense code, and delivers ads that are relevant to the site, audience and the specific content on the page.

Adsense works in conjunction with Google Adwords, selecting ads to display on your site from Adwords' massive advertiser database. And since Google provides the ads, you don't have to worry about mantaining relationships wit individual advertisers.

Simple explanation - Google collects ad information from webmasters who want to advertise their sites. These advertisers bid on keywords and create text or image ads related to their purchased keywords. These ads are stored by Google. Now you sign up for adsense and add te adsense code to pages on your website. If te content on your page matches keywords purchased by any advertisers, those specific ads are displayed on your site pages by the ad sense code.

Detailed below is information on adding adsense to your site, and tips for optimizing performance of ads and maximizing revenue from Google Adsense.

Implementing Adsense

The full explanation for the above block diagram is available here. Just to be clear, the above diagram is not official, or verified to be correct. No one outside Google knows exactly how Gogle's algorithm works. But it does give a clear picture of how Adsense and Adwords interact, to produce a superlative and unmatched contextual advertising network with a seamless and fully automated system, from accepting ads to displaying them, accepting money from advertisers and paying it out to publishers.

[google ads]

Let's get down to how to implement Google adsense on your website. It's a simple matter of signing up with adsense, specifying options such as link units, text and background color options and then copying the code and pasting it on your website templates, or if you are not using templates, on specific pages. This however, does not get the cash register go ka-ching, even if you have healthy traffic. The main reason is that Adsense is now so universally known, that just about everyone wo uses the internet knows that it is an advertisement, and the first reaction from visitors to your site is to ignore the adsense ads.

You need to do some trail and erroe and find out three or four combinations of ads and locations on your pages, where the ads work and you get more clicks. I say 3 or 4 combinations, beacuse once you have a successful combination of winning ads and locations, your visitors, over a period of time, say one month or two months, will start ignoring the ads. Then its time to change the ads and move to the next winning combination. That's why you need at least 3 or 4 combinations of well designed ads, placed in locations which entice clicks. Google as comipled a helpful guide to optimize adsense ad performance, for specific kinds of pages, such as blogs, forums, etc. You can view the guide here. If you have multiple sites, you can use the same adsense code, or PIN, to place ads on all sites, and monitor and tweak the performance and earnings from each, by means of using channels and filters.

Summary

Generally speaking, Adsense will make you enough to pay your hosting charges, but not enough to help pay your mortgage. The cents keep coming everyday, and it slowly collects into dollars. If you want a lot of dollars from adsense, there's two simple things you can do. Increase your traffic, or start dozens of sites. Ad performance notwithstanding, if a 100 visitors make you $4, 1000 visitors will make you $40. Simple as that. And finally, Google will pay, only by check, and only when the amount reaches $100. Update : supermom_in_ny points out that Google also pays by direct deposit to your bank.

Make Money Online: Beginner's Guide

Q. I keep reading about people making serious money online. Is there any truth to it or is it all hype?

Not hype.

As of 2007, the number of different ways you can make money on the Internet, has reached an all time high. Normal people are selling on eBay , promoting affiliate offers , writing for a living , creating niche content sites and typically doing it all from their home office.

In fact, I'm surprised so many people stick with their "physical world" boring day jobs and never even experiment with making money online. Their quality of life could improve significantly if they just stick to it.
Q. How much money are we talking about?
On the high end, there are people like Markus Frind , an engineer who created a free dating website, has no employees but his girlfriends who helps out and is collecting $200,000 a month from Google. Or Jeremy Schoemaker , a self taught pay per click expert, who is reportedly making $6M annually working from his home office, running 4 companies.

You have folks like Kris Jones , who started a gourmet food company, doing affiliate marketing on the side and ended up repositioning and creating the fastest growing full-service Internet Marketing agency in the United States with now nearly 100 employees, all financed from affiliate marketing profits.

There's a nice lady by the name of Wendy Piersall , who started a blog titled eMomsAtHome and turned it into a little empire.

We're talking big money.

Q. I don't have any technical skills. Is that a problem?

No.

Not unless you make it a problem in your head.

There are literally tens of thousands of success stories, covering people from all backgrounds, origins, professions and countries. You no longer need to come from a certain background, origin, posses a certain level of education or have any other inherent skills. The only thing all these case studies have in common is an unwavering passion to succeed at all cost. You're going to fail repeatedly, so you better get used to it. Persistence is key.
Q. How soon can folks normally quit their "day job"?
At least not for a year. Read success stories of people who made it big online and you'll learn all (or most) of them had a solid dayjob, while they were working on their online businesses. You need to put food on the table, that's your first priority.

There are enough hours in the day and plenty of resources online, so that if you're committed and willing to invest 2 hours every day and a few more over weekends to building your own sites , 12 months are more than enough to build a significant income from your online ventures. It takes time building revenues online. But it's worth it.

Q. How exactly is money being made online?

To understand how money is being made online, you need to understand two important online marketing terms:

Traffic = The number of people who visit a website.

Conversion Rate = The percentage of website visitors who decide to buy or signup on that website.

For example, a website with daily traffic of 10,000 visitors and a conversion rate of 2%, selling a $20 product, will generate $4,000 per day to the website owner. (10,000/100*2*20)

To make money online you need to focus on promoting the website, getting as many people as possible to visit the site (increase traffic) and continually work on the website sales copy and the product/service being offered to get as many website visitors as possible to buy (increase conversion rate).
Where to Start

Q. Ok, I understand Traffic and I think I understand Conversion. What next?

The first important decision you have to make is what path to choose for starting to generate money online. Having so many different ways to make money online may seem confusing to new people.

Borrowing an analogy from Robert Kawasaki, I categorized the 4 distinct paths you can choose when getting started online. Pick the one that you feel is best suited for you and you'll be one step closer to earning your living online.

Level 1: Online Employee - Replace your "physical world" boss with an online boss. Visit WAHM (Work At Home Mom), WorkPlaceLikeHome. You'll find hundreds of opportunities to do real work for real companies from your home and get paid real bucks. LiveOps and West are two solid companies in the customer support category. You can find other companies if you don't feel comfortable speaking to customers over the phone and getting paid by the minute.

Level 2: Online Self Employed - Start a small business online and be your own boss. The absolute best place to start is eBay . Find a niche you love, search eBay to ensure there are at least 3 sellers in that niche to indicate demand is high enough and start offering those products on eBay as a seller. Starting on eBay is common to many of today's successful online moguls. Other great online small businesses to start with are - your own copywriting shop (if you know how to write well), a blog where you write about a hot niche and promote affiliate offers, or your own consulting business (if you have strong expertise in your area).

Level 3: Online Investor - If you have $5,000 to risk (don't risk more initially) this path might be for you. Head over to SitePoint forums and take a month to learn about how online businesses are bought and sold for a profit similar to Real Estate fixer-uppers. Another good investment channel is becoming a Domainer (people who buy website domains cheap and sell them months later for a huge profit).

Level 4: Online Business Owner
- The holy grail of making money online is becoming a business owner. The difference between "Online Self Employed" and "Online Business Owner" is that as an online business owner, your business can function without you. Online business owners typically have dozens or hundreds of active websites, all generating passive income requiring little to no involvement. While obviously ideal, this is also the most difficult level to conquer. I strongly suggest you go through the previous levels first, to gain an understanding of the online world. Once you're ready, profitable online businesses are all about creating a service (or destination) people would easily extract value from. Create a site people would love to recommend to their friends and you're on the right track. Profitable online businesses include: Niche Content sites, Dating sites, Proxy servers , Lead generation , Affiliate Marketing and many more.

Q. How do I pick the right path for me? Being an online business owners sounds like the best one?

Yeah being an online business owner with hundreds of sites under your belt is the quickest way to making a 7 figure income. But notice I specifically marked that one as 'Level 4'.

If you're just getting started online, it usually doesn't make sense to get started at level 4 from day one. While you might succeed, you can increase your chances by starting from the basics.

I didn't say you have to spend years working through each level. You can open an eBay business, learn the ins and outs of making money and sell your eBay business a few months later as you move on to the next level.

Probably the best way to pick the right path for you, is to mimic what you are currently doing in the "physical world". If you are an employee of a big company, start by converting yourself to an online employee so that you can work from home. If you have a small business in the "physical world", start by converting your small business to an online one so that you can attract a much wider audience.

Take it step by step, be prepared to fail and most importantly - keep your day job until your total 3-month online earnings equal 150% of what your old job used to pay.
Q. I used to do Real Estate and can relate to buying-selling businesses. How do I get more guidance?
Once you pick the right path for you, your next question is probably going to be - "Ok great, now what do I do first thing tomorrow morning?"

Thankfully, the Internet has many forums and a handful of blogs, matching each path of online money making. Make sure you pick the right forums (I linked to many of the good ones above) and don't get too carried away spending all your time reading and no time producing.

Be very focused on meeting your predefined goals before you jump on the forums.

For example, if you pick the path of being an Online Investor, buying and selling websites, you'll have to start at SitePoint Forums - read everything under the marketplace sub-forum and try to identify how the successful users act. Feel free to ask questions, introduce yourself and be very honest about where you are in the process. You'll be surprised but many people would love to help.

Similar to a Real Estate fixer-upper, in the online world, you'll have to learn how to first evaluate website traffic (population), earning's potential (look at comps), search engine placement (neighborhood) and then understand where to get cheap developers (workers) and project managers (builders) to manage it all.
Shortcuts

Q. Sounds like a lot of information to digest. Any shortcuts?

We all love shortcuts, don't we?

The best way to ensure you are on track to replace your "physical world" income with an online income in less than 12 months, is "goal setting".

Cliche or not, without having specific goals, your chances of succeeding are slim to none.

Here's a good set of goals that will help you get started, covering all basic grounds:

1. Make $20 online by exchanging your time for money

2. Sell something on eBay, even if you make no money or lose up to $50 in the process.

3. Make $50 profit online by selling a product, service or promoting an affiliate-offer

4. Make $5 online by building a simple content site and embedding Google AdSense in it

5. Buy a website that is making $100 or more per month, for $200 or less.

Q. What else?

Pick a mentor and ride his (or her) wave.

Every meteor revolves around a star. Similarly, you need to pick a successful person making money online in the path you chose earlier, contact that person and get them to take you under your wing.

You can find these people in forums such as DigitalPoint , WickedFire , SitePoint and WebMasterWorld.

Be very honest about who you are and what you are looking to do. Explain you are willing to work very hard for very little or no compensation, you are very impressed with the posts posted by [your chosen mentor] and are looking to learn more about making money online.

Don't expect to win over stars who are making 7 figures on-line. Start with folks who are just one level ahead of you in the game, re-assure them your intentions are pure and keep trying until you find the right fit.

Just about every successful person in both the online and offline worlds had a mentor they looked up to when they got started.

Q. Where do I find my first customers and how do I build a critical-mass of traffic?

Once you have an eBay store, a content site (with AdSense and Affiliate offers) or just a basic website promoting your own services, go to friends, family and old co-workers. Ask them to visit your site and ask for honest opinion.

Very Important: Don't tell them this site is yours. If you do, you're not going to get honest opinion. Instead, say you're looking to buy this site and you want to get their opinion if this is a site they would visit again.

Having a site with high stickiness factor, where you offer enough of a value proposition to website visitors to come back, is very important to building a sustainable online income.

Write some words and Earn Cash

You may hear about earning cash with placing advertisement on your website, earning cash by selling your link space from your website etc. But if you are new to this field then you might not hear about get paid by just writing some articles for other peoples.

The advertisers on that site can place their offer from a simple link back to a complete article or review of a product. Onces you get an opportunity from an advertiser, simply write a post about that topic and give a link back to the payperpost network. They will review your post and decide if it should be accepted or denied.

Top 10 AdSense Tricks To Boost Your Commission

Google AdSense is fast becoming the preferred way for people to earn an income online. Forget eBay and multiple affiliate programs. Whether you are a work-at-home mom trying to make a little extra cash or an Internet entrepreneur with hundreds of monetized websites, AdSense is truly the easiest way to earn money.

Simply sign up for a free account, grab your ad code and paste it in your site. But here's the amazing thing - no matter how much money AdSense is making for you right now, a few simple tweaks can increase that amount considerably. And I should know, after learning about these tricks, I more than doubled my AdSense commissions!

The self-proclaimed AdSense gurus and experts are sharing this insider knowledge, for a fee.

You can learn all these secrets from them, as long as you buy their e-book, sign up for their seminar or purchase their newsletter. But I'm going to share all their AdSense tricks for free. Here they are:

1) Color code your ads to match your web site palette *exactly*. Don't use frames around your ads. Instead, in the AdSense code generation interface, make sure you choose the same color as your page background for the ad frame and the ad background.

[google Ads]

When choosing the ad heading colors, match them to the *exact* color of your page headings. Use the exact same ad background shade as your page background. Use the exact same ad text font and color as the text on your pages. You can see an example of this color-matching on my Search Engine Advice Blog at - http://www.searchenginecollege.com/blog.htm - notice the 4 link ad unit at the top and the skyscraper text ad unit on the left hand side under the heading Ads by Google as you scroll down the page? The link and text colors are identical to the color palette used throughout the rest of the page.

Near enough is NOT good enough. If you can't quite get the color matching right, use Google's built in color palette together with the RGB to HEX or vice versa color converter on this page - http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Guide/Style. That handy little tool was a life saver for me.

This is probably the one single tweak that made the most difference to my commission levels.

2) Try not to use the traditional horizontal banner style or leaderboard image ads because people are blind to them.

3) Use Google's own AdSense optimization tips at https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html and visual heat map to assist you in deciding where on your page to place your AdSense ad code.

4) Research competitive keywords using a keyword research tool such as Keyword Discovery at http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/?id=22487 or grab a list of the most popular keywords from various sources and use them in your web site pages where relevant. This article - http://searchenginewatch.com/facts/article.php/2156041 - is a good source of frequently searched keywords. Targeting popular keywords should trigger AdSense ads on your pages that utilize those keywords. The more popular the keyword or phrase, the higher AdWords advertisers are generally willing to pay per click for it so the higher your commission on those clicks.

5) Incorporate the AdSense code into your page so that the ads look like a regular part of your site. You can see an example on this Internet Dating Stories site - http://www.lovestory.com.au/ - where link ads are incorporated within the regular left hand navigation of the site under the heading "Feature Links".

6) Use Google's new 4 and 5 link ad units wherever possible. They seem to have a much higher Click Through Rate (CTR) than regular ad styles. You can view all the AdSense ad formats at https://www.google.com/adsense/adformats.

7) Place arrows or images next to your ads to draw attention to them. You can see two different versions of on this search engine article library page - http://www.searchenginecollege.com/articles/article-library.htm - at the top (where a pointing hand directs your eye to the ad) and the bottom where 3 images draw your attention to each of the three AdSense ads.

8) Use the full allowance of multiple AdSense ads on each of your pages - 3 regular AdSense ads, plus 1 link unit. Use careful placement of these ads so they blend into your site and don't distract from your content. Clever use of this allowance can be seen on this page about bad Internet dating stories - http://www.lovestory.com.au/bad-stories.htm - where you see:

- 1 horizontal 4 link ad unit towards the top of the page under the first paragraph.
- 1 vertical skyscraper text ad unit about halfway down the left hand side under "Sponsor Links".
- 1 vertical skyscraper image ad unit down the left hand side under "Sponsor Links".
- 1 horizontal text banner unit at the bottom of the page with images above each ad to draw attention to them.

You can also include 1 AdSense referral button in addition to the 3 other units.

9) Tailor your page content to a particular niche or focus. Page content that is tailored towards a specific theme is more likely to trigger AdWords ads that closely match the content and are therefore more likely to interest your visitors and inspire them to click.

Don't create pages merely for the sake of placing AdSense ads. Visitors (and search engines) can see through this ruse in an instant.

10) Use custom Ad Channels for each of your ad placements, for example, "Top 5 Link Unit Blue Palette" or "Left Side Navigation Image Skyscraper" etc. Tweak, track and measure the success of each of these custom channels so you know what gives you the highest CTR. Some ad formats and colors will work better than others, but you won't know which until you test, test and test some more!

The Great Adsense Blend..

Adsense is a wonderful opportunity for you to generate additional income for your website. It doesn't cost you anything is the best part! Adsense is also very simple. You have to complete an application with Google and be accepted to host advertisements for other businesses. Then you simply add lines of code to the html on the pages of the website where you are willing to have advertisements. With that all in place, how do you blend the Adsense Ads into your website so they don't stick out like a sore thumb? You don't want them to distract the consumer from what you are offering on your website.

You may not be aware of it, but you have a lot of say in how the advertisements are placed on your website including the placement, layout, color, and style. There are many places on a website to put Adsense Ads. Some prefer to place it on the top of the page and others like the bottom of the page. Along either side of the text for your website is convenient too. Since we read from left to right, the right side is more common as it will attract attention as the eyes move across the page.

According to Google Adsense, the most effective location is at the top of the page because the entire ad can be seen. Often parts of it are hidden when on the sides unless the mouse is used to scroll over the information. This can be distracting to the consumer and lose the effectiveness of the advertisement. They also recommend using different colors for the ads to differentiate it from your website materials, but to use colors that compliment each other.

The layout can be modified to make it different or the same as your website. Some advertisement hosts like everything to be in the same style and size to give a symmetrical look to the pages. Others like to have their information completely distinct from the advertisements. Both are effective so it is only a matter of personal preference as to how you want your website to appear. Colors including the background can be changed to make everything work together well. You might have to experience a little to come up with the right design you are happy with.

You want to blend the Adsense ads enough that they look natural appearing on your website rather than appearing to be out of place. If they don't look natural they can be distracting to the consumer. They also won't be effective because consumers don't trust what doesn't look professional when it comes to the internet. This could be damaging to your own sales on your website so pay close attention to this issue. It is a good idea to ask some others for feedback on how the information appears to them on your website. You should avoid placing ads to where they appear to be banners.

Adsense offers you some useful tools as well to get everything to blend. The Google Adsense Preview tools allow you to test the layout of your website with the ads in place. This gives you the opportunity to change anything that is ineffective before your consumers view in over the internet. You can also contact their customer support 24/7 for questions or concerns you may have.

Adsense is a great way for your website to generate additional income by offering to host advertisements for other businesses with similar products and services to offer consumers. You are still in control of the layout and design of your website. You have the ability to change the color, layout, and style of the advertisements placed on your website. You also get to determine where they are placed. This makes the idea of participating in Adsense advertising even more appealing.

The Google Adsense Template Phenomenon

For many affiliate marketers, Google Adsense templates are a god-send. In fact, they are now realizing that good money is made from this source of revenue. Try the simple mathematical computation of multiplying those clicks for every page on your website and you get a summation of earnings equivalent to a monthly residual income with that little effort you have made.

Since this form of contextual advertising can be a fast and easy way for website publishers of all sizes to display relevant and text-based Google ads on their website's content pages and earn money in the process, the need for unique graphics and google adsense templates comes into focus (or any other contextual ad provider). Ever-conscious of spam or junk pages, ideal graphics with ideal ad locations make website creation less painful.

How much you will be earning will depend on how much the advertisers are willing to pay. It will depend also on the keywords required. If the keywords the advertiser have chosen are in high demand, you could receive more dollars per click. On the other hand, low demand keywords will earn you just a few cents per click.

How can you start making profits out of your website using Adsense?

1. First, register for an Adsense account. It will only take a few minutes of your time.

2. When the site is accepted, you will be receiving a bit of javascript code to include in your web pages. You can insert this code on as many pages or web sites that you want. The AdWords will start appearing immediately after.

3. You will be earning a few cents or some dollars per click when someone starts clicking on the AdWords displayed on any of your web pages. Trying to earn false revenues by repetitively clicking on your own ads is a no-no. This will result in a penalty or the possibility of your site being eliminated. The money you have already earned may be lost because of this.

4. View your statistics. Adsense earnings can be checked anytime by logging into your web site account.

Once you got your account working, you may still want to pattern them to the many sites that are earning more money than you are. It is important to note that there are factors affecting how your website will perform and the amount of money it will give you.

It is a common practice that when a site earning money, the tendency is for the owner to want to make more out of what they are getting already. It usually takes some time combined with trial and error to attain what you want for your Adsense contents.

Time and some important factors that you can practice and use. Remember to study your server logs and watch for any activity that seems suspicious. Report anything that you may find odd, may it big or small thing.

You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP address and local geographic area. This will certainly prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will avoid Google mistaking as clicking on your own ads and be kicked out because of it.

But all-in-all, with quality and original content, it's a win-win situation if you think more about it. A favor for persons looking for quality content and information. For the persons writing the original content articles. And the person with the quality original content rich website. Of course, the search engines and its advertisers are getting targeted traffic and sales but so what? As long as you are getting something in your favor, it does not really matter what the others are getting for themselves. But with quality and original Google Adsense templates making the job MUCH easier, the only income way is up.

Making Adsense work in the smart pricing era

Smart pricing has changed Adsense. Publishers are seeing lower per click payouts and are lamenting the inability of their old methods and systems to produce a profit under the current circumstances. The old guard of Adsense gurus, meanwhile, continues to hold tight to a perspective born before smart pricing became a reality. They continue to encourage new publishers to follow their methods for Adsense success. Others have overreacted, announcing that Adsense is no longer a viable moneymaking opportunity. Some have even argued that smart pricing killed Adsense.

The old guard gurus are merely protecting their own best interests. As long as they can pretend nothing meaningful has changed, the longer they can continue selling their systems and software. Those tolling death bells for Adsense are stirring up controversy for the sake of promoting click-flipping and other wealth-production strategies. The only people who seem to have it right are those publishers who have noticed that the old Adsense gravy train has run out of steam and who have discovered that the future of Adsense lies in treating it differently than before.

Instead of proclaiming the death of Adsense, savvy users are taking a different approach to the changed environment. Adsense still has a place and can still be a valuable part of a successful overall strategy. However, the previously embraced strategies that were premised on constructing lower-quality sites en masse and monetizing them exclusively with Adsense are no longer tenable.

Instead, Adsense can be used as one of a multiplicity of revenue-producing tactics on smart sites designed to provide visitors with real value. Earlier Adsense techniques were based on sending mass traffic to a site and collecting ad clicks exclusively. In many cases, the sites were actually designed in a way that aimed to make people want to leave rapidly, using Adsense ad blocks as an “escape route.

Smart pricing has decreased the per click payout of such prices by such a substantial margin that one cannot hope to profit from those strategies in any meaningful way. Instead, smart publishers will create better sites that really interact with visitors in a meaningful way. Relevant contextual advertising fills the role of one many services offered to visitors. Instead of being the “only way to make a dime, Adsense can be used as part of a full roster of moneymaking opportunities.

Not only does this strategy allow webmasters to effectively tap into to other revenue sources (some of which are more valuable than Adsense ever was in its heyday), it also comports with Adsense’s own recommendations for improving per click values in a smart pricing environment. There are more ways to make money and one can make more money with Adsense at the same time. Regardless of what some might be announcing, there is no reason to give up on Adsense. You just need to use it differently.

Adsense did not change in a vacuum. While it lumbered toward smart pricing, web access, technology and user expectations were also in a state of flux. Today, the old methods of top-down site design premised on the old publication model is outmoded. The arrival of what many are terming “Web 2.0 reflects the convergence of several different trends. Those who will successfully use Adsense as a monetization strategy today and in the future are aware of those trends and how to approach them to effectively generate a substantial income.

Adsense has changed. Do not believe those who tell you that “business as usual will still work like a charm. Adsense is not, however, dead. It is still a strong and vibrant means by which to earn. The old Adsense business models are dead. They just do not do the trick anymore. You can make money with Adsense, but it will require the use of strategies that merge appropriately with the current environment and trends. Sites that seek to provide real value to visitors can make use of multiple revenue earning strategies including Adsense and will succeed regardless of smart pricing adjustments.

How to Increase Your Google Adsense CTR

This is the first part of two series of articles about How to Increase Your Google Adsense CTR. Many people think that they just have to copy and paste Google Adsense code into their website and start earning a huge amount of money from it. What a huge mistake! I also thought the same way two years ago. Later I realized that without optimization, that's impossible. Here I will share all of the tricks to increase my Google Adsense CTR that I found within the last two years.

Here are some tips to increase your Google Adsense CTR:

  1. Make sure the ads that are appearing on your site are closely related with your content. This is the first thing you have to do because if your ads are not relevant, there's small possibility that people will click on them. Then, what should you do to tackle this problem? Here are the tips:
    • Create a keyword rich content. I suggest you creating one topic a page.
    • Check your keyword rich content and then mark some of your keywords as bold or italic. But don't do it too much, just do it 1 – 2 times per page. Otherwise, Google assumes you are doing spamming.
    • Use your keyword in your page title.
    • Use HTML Tag H1 as your content title, and put your keyword in it. Don't forget to place this tag at the beginning of your content.
    • If all those tips still do not work, there is just one possibility: there are no ads that matched with your keyword! You can check this out by using this marvelous tool from the Digital Point Website. It is called the Google Adsense Sandbox, and located in http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/Adsense-sandbox/
You'll be asked to enter your selected keyword and it will display every Adsense ads that's connected with that keyword. What if your suspicion is correct? Change your keyword! Do not worry; sometimes you just have to change one or two words.

[google Ads]

  1. Use wide ads (336x280, 300x250 or 250x250). Because these are the best performing ads.
  2. Blend your ads with your website themes. For example, if your background color is white, change your ads border and background color to white as well. If your background color is dark (black), use bright color such as yellow as link color. This will decrease user ad-blindness.
  3. Place your Google Adsense in these positions:
    • Above the fold
Above the fold is the top position of your page that's visible without your visitor having to scroll down. This is the best location that works for me. I place 336x280 ad unit in this location and it works very well. Why? Okay, back to our example. Your article is about "how to bake delicious bread". Someone finds it from search engine; when he opens it, he first sees ads about "baking school", "baking book" or "bread recipes". Who won't be interested?
    • In the middle of an article.
This works well if your article is long (more than 500 words). People tend to stop for a while and look for something different while they read. I suggest using rectangular ads (125x125, 180x150, 300x250, 336x280, 250x250 ad unit) for this purpose and make it left justified.
    • At the end of an article.
Many people reported that placing Google Adsense ads at the end of their article tends to work very well. This is because when people finish reading an interesting article, they usually think "okay, what's next?" That's your chance! By placing Google Adsense ads at the end of this article, people will spend a minute to read it and then (maybe) click it. For example, you write an article about "how to bake delicious bread". And at the end of it, there are some ads about "bread recipes". Who won't be interested?
  4. Regarding the fourth tip, I don't recommend you placing three ad units in a single page. From my experience, the number of ad unit you place in a single page doesn't affect your CTR. In fact, I even found that placing three text ads in a single page make my ads "unblended". For example, I put 160x600, 468x60 and 336x280 ads on a single page. You know what? My 468x60 ads only showed 3 ads in it, whereas my 336x280 ads only showed 2 ads in it! My suggestion is: use 1 – 2 ad unit and a single link unit on your page (Google allows 3 ad unit and 1 link unit to be placed on a single page).
  5. Always use Link Unit! Many people never realize that Link Unit is the most profitable format if put in the right place. Try to place it near your navigation menu. People will misidentify it as a navigation menu and automatically read it. If your ads are closely relevant to your content, there's big possibility they will click it. I move the top navigation in one of my websites to the bottom section and replace it with 728x15 Link Unit Ads. You know what? My Google Adsense CTR increased by 200%!

Google AdSense :: Warning

Click Fraud - Clicks that will get you into trouble with Google AdSense

Clicks that will get you into trouble with Google AdSense or you are already in trouble with Google AdSense

First, the type of clicks (click fraud) listed below is definitely not a cheat list. It is the type of clicks that will let Google triggered their banning fingers. It is the reasons why Google has banned you from their AdSense program.

1. Basic innocent clicker cheat

The website owner is naive or ignorant about Internet technology, affiliate program and did not bother to read Terms of Service document (or other program policy document). He clicks on his own ads (Google AdSense ads) installed on his website. Google does not permit you to clicks ads on your own site.

2. Proxy click cheat

You are familiar with cookies and IP address or may not and make a guessed that if you use a software tool called anonymizer, Google would not be able to trace you, because your identity is obscured by the anonymizer tool. You could also be using proxy server and other rerouting software. Believe me, Google can still trace you and your clicks.

3. Multiple computer clicker cheat

Knowing that Google can smell their cookies on your computer and you are aware that Google can detect if clicks are originated from your computer. So you try to fool Google with the origin of the clicks and you asked your friends, relatives, family members, neighbors and other strange buddies to assist you on a mischievous task: to click on the Google AdSense ads on your website. They obliged and click on the AdSense ads on their computers at home, office and some corner in cyberspace and where not. Google can hear those clicks of yours or your relatives, friends, family members, neighbors and your other strange buddies.

4. Ads Autoclicker cheat

Next, you try ads autoclicker or clickbot / click-bots. These are specialized little program that can automatically "click" on the AdSense ads. Thus they are called click robot or click bot. The clickbot or autoclicker bot will scan your websites, triggered the clicking on the ads every few minutes. Advance autoclicker bot is also capable of cloaking the IP address to fool Google and make your website seems to be very popular worldwide. To cover the track, these clickbots or autoclicker bots will browse around the advertisers sites too while continuing its "clicks task".

5. Paid manual clickers cheat

If you think, auto clicker bots can be traced by Google, you try other option like paying $50 a month to professional AdSense clickers. These are groups of highly specialised Internet surfers with office in the dark rooms in streets corners in third-world countries such as China, India, Pakistan and Nigeria, helping AdSense account owners to earn good amounts of money before their AdSense account is disabled, that is. The professional clickers will browse around your websites, clicking on the ads every few minutes. Because they use human eyes, they know which ads worth more. And to be more convincing they can click a link or two, or sign up free offers or newsletters on the advertiser sites. Google can trace the pattern of the click as well as the origin of click and it won't be long before Google spot the footprint of cheat.

6. Click Rings cheat

Similar to hiring pro clicker, you can use your network. Network is power. Instead of working alone and pay pro clicker to do the job, you can join hands with those with similar objectives and distribute AdSense clicks among themselves. This is the AdSense Click Rings. Joining this click ring network means that your website address will be made known to members, who will regularly browse the website and click on your AdSense ads. In exchange, you will also do the same (return favour). The medium of communication used varies. Some click rings group used chat room, mail-list, bulletin boards or private forum, Yahoo groups as well as Instant Messaging (like MSN or Yahoo Messenger). A bit more complicated is the specialised AdSense exchange software for collecting members website address or URL and displaying other's websites for clicking. That's mean the member surfing or browsing to fellow members website is automatic and member just execute the last job, of clicking the AdSense ads.

7. Newsletter, eBook, ToolBar, browser extension cheat

If you have thousands of email address, you can include AdSense ads in your newsletters and send the newsletters to the subscribers. It is possible that you can get thousands of clicks from one newsletters. You can also create (or hire someone) a free-ware like toolbars, FireFox extension, screensavers or eBooks with your AdSense ads and distribute it free. This is a quick ways to get click but illegal. Google AdSense ads is suppose to be installed on a website not on other media or medium. Those clicks from newsletters, eBooks, screensaver can easily be detected by Google.

8. Visitor cheat (with manipulative words)

Placing words like "Please visit my sponsors" or "Check out the these ads" on your website is cheating. Not an all-out cheating but Google AdSense program policies only allowed text such as "Advertisements" or "Sponsored List". Google discourage you from luring or requesting your visitor to click on the ads because that would not be natural.

9. Spam cheat

This is the highest level all click-frauds, the Maestro of Fraudsters. She spams millions of emails regularly, offering to “satisfy your inner needs if you can help me check on the links on my website”. Of course, email is not the only way. What IRC and instant messaging (IM) are for, after all. She will look for unsuspecting victims, offering something too-good-to-be-true “if only they will visit the website and click on the links”.

10. Click-through-rate cheat

Whichever method(s) above used, there is one limiting condition: the CTR(click-though-rate). Any CTR that exceeds certain percentage (probably around 10%) will raise red flag in Google AdSense back room. To lower the CTR, the professional cheaters will create some pages on the same domain that attracts very high traffic. Some interesting freebies will sure do the tricks. AdSense code is pasted there, thus creating a very high page impressions. Whether or not the the ads are clicked does not matter anyway, because they are targeting low paying keyword that does not have much competition. The fake clicks are, of course, on where the big money is, the low traffic pages stuffed with high-paying keywords.

Google Adsense Profits Mixed In With Affiliate Marketing

Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running? Or is your website the only way for you to earn income? Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you. With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily. And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program as well?

Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman’s products on your site. But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant’s website and the other being the affiliate’s site. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate’s site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer’s ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash. Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method. The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site’s visitor would only have to visit the advertiser’s site for them to gain money. The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.
